GreyRock Today

Whether you are looking for a place to retire or a vacation retreat, GreyRock is the place for you. GreyRock is a private gated community located on Weed Patch Mountain overlooking a spectacular man-made lake called Lake Lure. There are abundant active outdoor sports in the area, such as biking, swimming, kayaking, water skiing, standup paddle boarding, hiking, playing golf, and boating. Or you may just want to relax and enjoy the surrounding beauty with friends or view amazing sunrises and sunsets.  These are just some of the many attractions in and around stunning GreyRock.

GreyRock’s homesites are spaced along winding, paved roads and in cul-de-sacs tucked into aged forests providing owners with breathtaking, long-range views of mountain splendor.  The community is filled with native vegetation, woodland streams, and precious wildlife.  Owners share their mountain with deer, black bears, bobcats and wild turkeys, to name a few. Walking or biking through the private community brings the sights, sounds, and feelings of becoming one with nature to everyday life.

The Vista Seekers hiked to Eagle Rock and the Tunnel along Weed Patch Mountain Trail on Feb. 26, 2020. You can see an album of pictures taken during the hike by going to photo albums. For property owners, this view point and tunnel are on what was originally GreyRock common property that is now preserved. The land is part of a 10 miles trail which is part of a 100 mile trails system around Hickory Net Gorge. This is neighboring land preserved for all to enjoy!
